A realistic benchmark before the real 11+
The mock measures more than subject knowledge. It shows how your child handles timing, concentration, unfamiliar surroundings and questions they cannot immediately solve.
GL Assessment-style • Year 5 • Royal Docks and East London
Find out where your child stands before the real 11+. They will sit English, mathematics, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning papers under realistic conditions, then you will receive a detailed 15-page diagnostic report showing strengths, weaker areas and the highest-priority next steps.
Independent GL Assessment-style practice created by Knowledge Quay’s 11+ team.
GL 11+ mock exam explained
A GL Assessment-style mock is a timed practice examination covering the core skills commonly prepared for in GL-style 11+ routes: English, mathematics, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. It gives Year 5 children experience of working independently across several assessed areas in one supervised session.
The mock measures more than subject knowledge. It shows how your child handles timing, concentration, unfamiliar surroundings and questions they cannot immediately solve.
Knowledge Quay uses original practice material designed around relevant skills and exam conditions. It is not an official GL Assessment paper, and Knowledge Quay is not affiliated with or endorsed by GL Assessment.
After marking and quality checks, parents receive section scores, question-level analysis, topic strengths and gaps, revision priorities and written next-step recommendations.
The assessment
This mock is designed to test knowledge and exam-day readiness: timing, concentration, confidence and the ability to work independently in an unfamiliar setting.
Reading comprehension, vocabulary and language skills assessed under time pressure.
Arithmetic, problem solving and mathematical reasoning without tutor support.
Word-based logic, patterns and reasoning in a timed assessment setting.
Shape, sequence and spatial reasoning questions completed independently.
The final paper order, timings and supervised-break structure will be confirmed with the examination date. We do not publish guessed official timings or proprietary questions.
Sample diagnostic report
The report is the useful part: it turns a morning of testing into a clear revision plan. This is the first page of a real 15-page Knowledge Quay diagnostic report, with the student identified only by the anonymised label “M1”.
The full PDF opens in a new tab and can also be downloaded on desktop or mobile.
Inside your report
Why conditions matter
Realistic practice reveals things that a relaxed paper at home cannot: how a child manages the clock, settles their nerves, sustains concentration and responds when no one can give them a hint.
How it works
Tell us the examination area or schools your child is preparing for.
Priority-list families hear first when the East London date and venue are confirmed.
Your child completes the assessment under realistic, timed conditions.
Papers are marked and checked, then the diagnostic report is released.
Report turnaround will be confirmed before paid booking opens.
A strong fit
Consider waiting if…
A full timed mock is most useful once a child knows the main question types and subjects. If you are unsure, join the list and tell us where they are in their preparation; we can help you judge whether the next date is appropriate.
